When Hot Chillys added some detailing to the the La Montana that's when it really gained some traction.  The La Montana has always performed well but it used to look really bland, now with some cooler flat seam stiching that doesn't cause skin chaffing and a functional and sweet looking pocket on the the left bicep, it's more than just the warmest base layer available it looks sick too!  For super cold days it is common practice to where the La Montana over another base layer, if you complain about getting hot, don't do this.

This is the warmest base layer Hot Chillys offers, even if you are wearing it over another base layer buy the same size.  

Fit

Body Fit - The more contact that your base layer makes with your skin, the more effective it will be at retaining body heat, and managing moisture.

Material

Synthetic blend of Polyester and Spandex.

Hot Chillys' MTF or Moisture Tranfer Fibers move sweat away from the skin, in turn you stay warm, dry and comfortable.

Bio-Silver - By adding fabric with similar qualities to silver the La Montana is more odor resistant than merino base layers options. 

Style

Mountain weight, think fleece, base layer with a 1/4 zip for ventilation and comfort.

Performance

On Hot Chillys' warmth scale the La Montana is the warmest with a rating of 10/10. On the extremely cold days wearing this over another base layer is best practice.  

Additional Awesomeness

Zip pocket on left bicep gives the La Montana a cooler look and adds some functionality to fleecey base layer.  Chapstick, credit cards, ear buds or whatever else you could think of about that size are great things to stow away in there.
