This is the best boot Fischer has ever made, it's also one of the best boots ever made.  The Fischer Ranger Free 130 ski boots isn't made with Vacu-plast that Fischer is known for -- it's a grilamid shell, so it's light, skis well and is awesome to do custom boot work on.  Fischer's walk mechanism, is placed where it should be -- on the top buckle, unlike most other boots with walk modes that are engaged on the spine of the ski boot.  If you're walking around you're going to want to undo your top buckles, Fischer just makes it a bit simpler.  If you've owned Fischer boots in the past, or tried them on they may have felt a little soft in store or soft for their given flex index, the Ranger Free 130's are true 130's -- 130's that effing rip.  The Ranger 130's walk the line of being really light, 1540 grams and they don't sacrifice anything on the down.

How's the Fit: The Ranger 130 Free runs big for it's size, it also feels wider than most 99 mm lasted ski boots. You'll notice there is more room on top of the foot due to the elliptical shell design, got a higher instep -- Fischer's got you.  If there was ever an Alpine-Hike boot you could get away with a smaller size it's this one.
