The Elan Ripstick Tour is a brand new subsect of the Ripstick series. This ski is lighter and more nimble than the regular Ripstick series and is a tool designed for efficiency on the skin track with the ability to descend confidently. In comparison to the regular Ripstick, the Ripstick Tour only has one carbon tube that runs through the center of the ski. This ski feels snappy and nimble but not nervous. Like most skis on the lighter end of the spectrum this ski is not built for speed and you do get a fair amount of feedback on firm terrain, but again, that's not what this ski is built to be great at. For a ski this light the Ripstick Tour 104 does feel relatively stable on descents on some chopped up terrain and it's a blast to ski in some softer snow that you'll find out there while you're touring. At 104mm wide underfoot this ski floats effortlessly and it pivots on a dime. Elan has done a good job keeping the Ripstick DNA alive in this ski but in a more touring specialized package.  If you're looking for a lightweight, efficient and fun ski for a touring set-up this is one of the best in the category.
