The Elan Ripstick 86 is all about making your day skiing as easy as possible. No ski that holds its own on New England hardpack this well should feel this light and easy to turn, but that’s exactly what the Ripstick 86 from Elan does; making it an awesome choice for frontside-focused skiers that don’t want anything too burly. By having two carbon tubes run the length of the ski, as oppose to two full sheets of metal, Elan was able to cut down on the weight by a ton without sacrificing that pop that comes from having metal in a ski. At 86 millimeters underfoot, this is the narrowest ski of the Ripstick like, which makes it perfect for skiers who spend most of their time on groomed trails, but still want those deep powder days that the wider Ripsticks are known for to be as much fun as possible. The Ripstick 86 is a super similar ski to the Blizzard Black Pearl 88 but will feel slightly softer and easier to ski. Plus all of your homegirls probably already rock the Black Pearls so the Ripstick would be a pretty sweet choice.
