The Wailer 99 Alchemist is a lightweight super floaty ski for 99 mm in the waist.  This isn't a ski you get if you want to carve up the frontside, this is the ski you get if you hit a groomer only to find another stash.  I mean it'll hold on harder snow, but it's not where it excels.  The skis mounting point is pretty far back off core center, skiers that are used to more traditional mounted + cambered skis will feel like the Wailer 99 Alchemist ski lacks a lot of grip -- that's ok.  This is for soft snow and it's amazing how well it floats.

How does the Pure3 construction and Alchemist construction differ?

Basically the new construction is way more durable.  The Pure3 construction was just sidewall, the Alchemist construction has a mini-cap – this was done for durability purposes, less chipping on the top sheet.  The tail of the skis also has a tail bar to keep delaming from happening.  

Perfromance wise the Alchemist construction is going to be less nervous feeling on harder snow and at speed, this will be more noticable on super hard snow like the stuff we have here in the North East.  Otherwise still the same great ski, no con’s to the construction at all.
