The Malavita's found their way to the very top of the list of bindings I tested this season for a number of reasons. The main one is the balance between flex and stability. If I want to pop into the park or do a trick on the side of the trail I get the forgiveness I need. I can get that playfulness out of most bindings in this category, but what sets the Malavita apart is that if I find myself riding faster and more aggressive, I can trust that these are going to be stable enough. I need to feel sturdy if I decide to point it downhill and try to find the speed limit. Out of the bindings in the mid-flex category, there aren't many options that can handle aggressive riding like the Malavita. The increased stability comes from the rubber Heel Hammock that rests against the inner hi-back for insane boot hold and instantaneous response.  This combo makes the Malavita a solid match for intermediate to advanced riders who want something that can charge, but also provides that flex you need to crafty on the side of the trail or in the park.
