When you look in the chair lift lines, you may notice a lot of repeat colors and prints. If you are anything like us at the ski monster, and you don’t want to look like everyone else in line, then you should definitely put Black Diamond on your list. This year their ski pants come in awesome colors that definitely emanate style, but the true story is all about the incredibly durable and functional ski pants. The Mission Pants are constructed with three layer Gore-Tex fabric that is totally waterproof and breathable. The face fabric of these pants is nylon which is a lot more durable than polyester substitutes. The inner lining of the pants is a low loft brushed fleece. This ensures that your pants will feel just as comfortable if you have on long johns or boxers underneath. When you venture into avalanche terrain, it is important to carry the necessary tools like a beacon. The Mission Pants have a PIEPS Pocket that holds an avalanche beacon perfectly. The whole pocket is protected with some revolutionary new material called Poron XRD. This stuff is definitely worth a google because it does a pretty good job protecting things for its size. Continuing on avalanche safety, these pants also include an integrated RECCO reflector. The Mission Pants have belt loops and an integrated  belt that really helps you keep your pants up in the spring when you loose the base layers and opt for boxer shorts. You will really be able to air it out when you open the large outer thigh vents. Working your way down the pants, you will find articulated knees. That means these pants are pre-bent so that you can be comfy while wearing your ski boots that make you lean forward. On the bottom of these pants you will find zippers that will make fiddling with your boot buckles a snap. On the inside of the cuffs there are Keprotec kick patches. Keprotec is a fabric that was developed for motorcycle racing. It is woven with Kevlar fibers that will keep ski edges from shredding your pants.

Regular - These pants are designed to be layered under. These shell pants run true to size.

There is no insulation in this shell pant.

Pockets

On the right there is a PIEPS Pocket for an avalanche beacon, and don’t worry it works great to hold an iPhone too. On the left there is an over sized thigh pocket that is easy to access even with a long jacket on. The back of the pants has one pocket perfect for your wallet. All zippers are covered with waterproof zips.
