Strap on the Mission Shell and prepare for mountain battle. This three layer Gore-Tex coat is ready to take a beating. The Mission Shell is constructed with a 70 denier nylon face fabric that will shed water and tree branches with ease. The Gore-Tex membrane is protected by a brushed fleece polyester lining. This adds a bit of warmth to a shell jacket and it also keeps the jacket from feeling clammy on bare skin. Any good ski shell is going to be designed for layering. The Mission Shell runs true to size if you are wearing some insulating layers. This jacket will feel a little loose if you are trying it on with a t-shirt. With clean styling, this jacket is equally at home in the mountains as it is in an urban environment. Now that we have the styling out of the way, we can talk about all of the awesome ski features included with this jacket. The helmet compatible hood is fixed to the jacket for extra waterproofing and thanks to Cohaesive cord-management, it is super easy to cinch up. When you have your helmet safely tucked inside the hood of this jacket, your neck will stay cozy thanks to the microsuede lining on the collar. This jacket has tons of pockets and huge two way pit zips to dump heat. If you are looking at this jacket there is a pretty good chance that you may want to shred some pow. Black Diamond has set you up for success with an integrated and stretchy powder skirt that really moves with you. The Mission Shell could be your next gear love affair.

Performance Level

Gore-Tex 3L Guaranteed - This jacket is guaranteed to keep you dry so you don’t have to worry about harsh storms. The water will stay out thanks to the Gore-Tex membrane and water vapor will be expelled when aerobic activities increase.

Insulation

There is no insulation in this shell.

Pockets

On the outside of this jacket there are five total pockets. There are two hidden chest pockets that are very deep and perfect for storing any items you may need in a hurry. Near the bottom of the jacket there are two hand warmer pockets that are the perfect place for your hands on cold nights in the city when you forget to pack a pair of gloves. On the left shoulder of the jacket you will find a zippered pocket that is perfect for storing your RFID ski pass. On the inside of this jacket there are two mesh drop pockets that are designed to hold your skins. This keeps them nice and warm for the ski down, that way they will stay sticky when you finally get down to the bottom of your run.
