The Black Crows Navis Freebird is one of the more impressive touring skis out there as far as downhill performance goes. For a ski around 1700g(per ski) it skis quite well. Reason for the better skiability is that the Navis isn't "super light," there's still some real substance underfoot (Titanal, Carbon Firberglass). On hard snow the Navis Freebird doesn't perform like a full blown resort ski, top speed is easy to find, but it holds up much better than some other skis on the lighter end of the spectrum. At 102mm underfoot the Navis likes softer snow and it's easy to smear this ski around tight terrain thanks to the generous rocker and light weight construction in the ski. For a wider, lighter ski we were impressed with the grip and smooth feel it has on edge, as well.  If you're putting a touring set up together this should be on your short list, bonus points for this ski being able to handle some softer resort days too.
