Atomic completely revamped the Vantage series.  The trend in ski construction is having weight where you need it not where you don't.  This is most apparent on skis with 3 dimensional top sheets, instead of the surface of the ski being flat it has shape to it -- think Volkl M5, Volkl RTM, Fischer Ranger to name a few.  The Vantage 97 Ti, is one of the most dramatic we've seen yet, and it skis great.  In comparison to the previous Vantage 100 CTi, the 97 Ti is more lively, lighter and skis off trail quite a bit better.  The weight loss didn't take away from it's gripability on hardpack, just enhanced the nimbleness which the previous generation didn't have in comparison.
