It's not lke us to be super stoked on skis that cost less than $500, but the ARV 96 skis really well.  All of us here have spent of time on this ski, that is a testament to how awesome it is.  Skis that we don't like tend to get skied less, with the harder snow we had this year in the Northeast and variable conditions the ARV 96 did really well.  It walks the fineline of being playful and a ski you can charge on pretty well, it's more playful and fun in soft snow than the Bonafide and grips better on the frontside than the Sick Day 95.  Where the ski doesn't perform as well as the Sick Day 95 is in soft/fresh snow, it just doesn't float as well.

For skiers that spend the vast majority of their time skiing groomers and are in the trees when there is less snow, the ARV 96 is a beast.  When conditions aren't good you're still having fun, that is a trait of nice pair of skis.

TLDR: Playful all-mountain ski that will still keep you afloat on a pow day. Not the best for hard chargers.
