Insulation: Polartec Alpha

The Arcteryx Airah is the perfect insulated winter ski coat for an active skier. Airah gets its warm winter magic from a little Massachusetts based company you may have heard of, Polartec. Polartec has launched a new type of insulation that is more focused on breathability than ever and its called Polartec Alpha. Staying warm is usually a function of staying dry, both from the outside elements and perspiration. So if your jacket is making you sweat on the way down, the chairlift ride is usually a cold one. Alpha is designed with more holes in it, to make sure that sweat can escape more freely. Arcteryx combined a smarter more active insulation with proven way to keep you dry, Gore-tex. The Airah is perfect for colder days on the slopes, or for anyone that doesn’t like to wear many bulky layers.
