K2 Ultra Dream SnowboardSometimes I just want something that no one else has, I want something new and when I find it there is no question in my mind that I have to have it. It’s called exclusivity and I’m pretty sure it’s the farthest thing from the feeling of buyer’s remorse. It’s like you won a prize for being the best at looking for something sick that now belongs to you. That’s why I’m positive I have to have the all new Ultra Dream from K2 Snowboards.

The K2 Ultra Dream Snowboard, just like the name, is the ultimate…hands down. I hate to say that it’s a fresh twist on the Turbo Dream, which has been a staple in K2’s line of snowboards for years because it’s just that different, new and refreshing.

The Ultra Dream is an all mountain board built with more of a back country focus than the Turbo Dream. What does that mean? It means a different shape, to help with float, more overall surface area to stomp big landings and increase overall stability. It boasts ¾ inch set-back stance for a more all- terrain focused ride and a sintered base to increase speed and decrease maintenance.

This board has some brand new technologies that K2 to has whipped up over the past year to increase the stoke of your riding experience. To start, K2 has focused on their baseline technology which is a design that makes the board completely flat and has proven to be nice and stable. Now baseline has been refined to the all new TWEEKEND technology. Tweekend has taken baseline to the ends, literally, to the outer limits of the edge contact points and tweeked up the tips and tails proving to provide even more stability than ever before.

The Ultra Dream also includes K2’s BAMBOOYA, which is a bamboo core. It has proven to be incredibly strong due to horizontal lamination within the deck. So strong in fact, K2 offers an unheard of five year warranty. It’s more like a dare to try and break this stuff.

Last but not least of notable new technologies offered in the Ultra Dream is K2’s BCSHAPING. I think the best way to describe this is to take a look at a Moment ski. The new shape adds more control and stability to the board in addition to tweekend with a cool look of super blunted tips and tails.
