Brand: Volkl

The Volkl RTM family has a new member for 2014, the Volkl RTM 81.  You might be thinking to yourself 1mm wider than the RTM 80, what's the point?  Ok so, here's the deal, the RTM 81 is a different construction than the RTM 80.  The RTM 81 is a full sidewall construction unlike it's little brother the RTM 80, resulting in better edge hold and stability.

Ok so, now you're thinking 3mm why would I spend the extra 100 bucks on the RTM 84?  The RTM 81 is reinforced with Steel for added torsional rigidity the RTM 84 is built with Titanium (Titanal).  The RTM 84 though it's a little bit wider is still a lighter and stiffer ski.

Now that we've cleared up the differences between those skis and you understand a little better now we can talk more about the RTM 81 instead of it's siblings.  It's geared for skiing mostly on trail with some dabbling in the woods and bumps.  It's full rocker construction makes it eat up crud and feel nimble while still eating up the harder snow and ice.  It's a great advanced/expert level all-mountain ski for someone spending most of their time on groomed condtions.  The RTM line needed this ski, I'm glad it's here.

Dual XTD Transmission Sidewall - This ski construction is a combination Volkl's Double Edge Grip and Sandwich Sidewall. This gives the RTM 84 excellent edge hold and power transfer, as well as incredible torsional rigidity.

Powered by Steel - A sheet of steel reinforces the RTM 81, with a powerful feel and solid edge hold.

XTD Sensor Wood - A full tip-to-tail wood core with two additional wood cores running along the edges of the ski, for a super smooth ride and consistent flex pattern.

Full Rocker -  The On-Piste Full Rocker makes the RTM 81 extremely easy to turn in any snow condition. It also provides additional float through powder and crud.

Marker iPT Wideride 12.0 - This system binding is integrated directly into the Volkl RTM 81. These ski bindings are designed to make the ski feel extremely quick edge-to-edge and provide maximum power transfer out of every turn. They have a din range of 3-12. The Volkl RTM 81 Skis do not come mounted, if you have any questions on mounting please contact an expert at TheSkiMonster.com.
