Fischer Ranger 90 Skis 2024

The Ranger 90 handles groomers, softer snow and some tree skiing really well without being difficult to ski no matter your ability level. It offers good grip on icier ski days and for a ski that is easy at low speeds, it holds up well when you're pushing them harder. It does have a more playful feel, and is more maneuverable than some other frontside-oriented skis in the category, but that's what makes them awesome when you go into the bumps or trees.

The Ranger 90 is great on groomers while also being effortless in the trees.

LIGHT, NIMBLE, PREDICTABLE.

The new Fischer Ranger 90 is a bit of a departure from the previous Ranger series skis, and that's a good thing. The new Ranger 90 is an easily accessible and capable ski for all skill levels. Beginning skiers will enjoy how easy this ski is to balance on and experts will like how predictable and agile this ski feels underfoot. On trail, the Ranger 90 feels confident, energetic and handles varying snow conditions very well. The metal in this ski provides enough suspension to keep the ski quiet at speed or on really firm snow. In and out of bumps or trees is effortless on this ski thanks to a fair amount of rocker in the tips and tails that allows the ski to pivot easily. Of the new Fischer Ranger line, the Ranger 90 is the most groomer-focused and offers the best grip. If you're a skier of any ability level that needs a ski that can hang on a groomer but doesn't mind being taken through the trees or more technical terrain. Compared to some other 90ish millimeter-waisted skis out there, the Ranger 90 offers a solid amount of maneuverability.

Who is this ski for? Skiers who spend most of their time on trail but like a ski that is easily maneuverable if you do go off trail, find some softer snow, or like to ski in bumps.  Skiers who prefer a more forgiving and playful ski but need grip and groomer performance.

Who isn't this ski for? Skiers looking for a powerful groomer ski and nothing else. Skiers who don't like a ski that's playful and light in the shovels.

The Test Crew

We test products year round in order to curate the best gear for you.

If you end up spending the majority of your time on groomers but like a ski that won't be a hindrance to skiing bumps or trees the Ranger 90 is great. It's got that playful feel that we've come to love from the Ranger series but the Ranger 90 can still crush a groomer.
