DPS Cassiar 95 Tour1 Skis 2017

LEAVE IT TO DPS.

The Cassiar 95 Tour1’s burst onto the scene in 2016 with as thorough and well-rounded a backstory as any touring oriented ski there is. Being quick on the ascent is the minimum standard in this category. This is achieved rather easily by the removal of core material from the ski… but where theres a give there’s a take. Cap construction and a carbon laminate compensate for a wood core of lesser mass and density by contributing torsional rigidity, a characteristic that is vital to keeping the edge in contact with the snow. Balsa is an extremely low density hardwood that makes the Cassiar Tour1’s maneuverable short-radius turners and feathery on the ascent. World Cup bases and Rockwell 48 hardened steel edges are the norm in DPS Ski manufacturing, and give all of their skis the legs to exchange punches for all 12 rounds. With Tour1 Construction, the touring category reaches a new altitude in terms of versatility, and it’s no surprise that we have DPS to thank.

Construction

Tour1 Construction - Tour1 Construction delivers a previously unattained pairing of minimized weight and knock-out downhill power. A Balsa Wood Core pairs with a carbon laminate in order to deliver torsional stiffness, making the Cassiar capable of meeting the demands of variable high-alpine snow conditions. In the steeps the Cassiar 95’s allow you to confidently grip frozen snow at an overall weight that is 225 grams less than the DPS Cassiar Pure3. Leave it to DPS Skis to one-up themselves.

Prepreg Carbon/Glass Tour1 Laminate - The role of fiberglass in ski construction is to prevent the ski from twisting under the pressure of high edge angle, high speed turns. By incorporating carbon into the lay-up DPS fortifies the Cassiar's torsional strength without the added weight of metal.

Austrian World Cup Race Bases - Hard and Fast. These race bases will leave you with time to kill at the base area while you wait for your shredding buddies to catch up. If they aren't down by the time you hit up the lift-side waffle shack... Leave em in the dust. Remember - No friends on a groomer day (unless you hopped a ride, of course).

Rockwell 48 Edges - DPS employs hardened steel in the edges of their skis in order to maximize their usable life and provide the edge grip required to go where others can't to find deep snow.

Core

Balsa Wood Core - Despite its classification asa hardwood, Balsa is renowned for its uncanny low density. At extremely low weight Balsa serves the DPS’ Tour1 skis magnificently by swallowing up vibration in the tip of the ski.

Shape

Rocker | Camber - Low profile rocker in the tip and tail allows the Cassiar 95 Tour1's to gash through snow like Japanese cutlery. Camber under binding distributes your weight along the effective edge, for dependable edge sets and good acceleration out of the turn.
