I usually shudder when people tell me they wear sweatpants under their snow pants when they ski. Baselayers are so essential to a ski day that it was tough to wrap my head around a sweat pant that DOES work as a first layer...and works really, really hard at it, too. TNF's proprietary FUTUREFLEECE™ material, which is exactly what these pants are constructed from, has an incredible warmth-to-weight ratio. Meaning that even though they have very little heft or bulk, they are warm as hell. So, lounge around apres or throw them on under your snow pants, the choice is yours. You just have to have them.
